Institutional scholaships CAPES
The CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) scholarship system is an important strategy of the Brazilian government to encourage the training of qualified human resources at postgraduate level. All postgraduate programs, and thus also the Postgraduate Program in Ecology and Evolution, receive a certain amount of institutional grants from CAPES.
Master's scholarships have a limited duration of 24 months from the student's registration. After this period, the scholarships will be transferred to other students, even if the beneficiary has not yet completed their course.
In the PPGEE, the availability of a scholarship depends on different factors, the most important of which is the ratio between entrants to the program and scholarships available at the time of publication of the call for applications. When there are more applicants interested in a scholarship than there are scholarships available, the Program Teaching Committee (CEPG) distributes the scholarships among those interested using the ranking in the selection process as the main criterion.
You can find more information about the selection process and criteria for ranking in the general information for entrants.
