What is the PAD?
PAD is an institutional teaching internship program in which the postgraduate student assists the lecturer in planning the teaching activities of an undergraduate class. This internship should contribute to their training as future university teachers, leading them to develop skills in teaching practice.
Am I obliged to do the PAD?
CAPES scholarship holders who receive at least one month's scholarship must have completed at least one internship in the teaching internship program (PAD).
To register for the PAD:
Registration in the classes throughout Unifesp that offer the PAD, as well as the rules and timetable are the responsibility of the Comissão do PAD da Pró-Reitoria de Graduação da Unifesp.
Interested students should be aware that registration takes place in the semester prior to the course being offered.
When are the classes available for the PAD announced?
They are always published on the PAD institutional page within the Pró-Reitoria de Gradução.
Important tips on registering for the PAD:
Students wishing to take the PAD should be aware of the institutional timetable since it is the responsibility of the Pró-Reitoria de Graduação da Unifesp. At the end of the academic semester, the undergraduate classes of the entire Unifesp (all campuses) available for the student to enroll in the PAD in the following semester are informed. The student must apply for the internship following the instructions given for all classses offered by Unifesp. It is suggested that they choose a class that will contribute to their academic training
Alternatively, the student can first contact the lecturer (advisor or not) who teaches the undergraduate class and show interest in the internship, and ask the lecturer to register for the PAD in the semester before the course is offered. Both (lecturer and student) need to be aware of the rules and timetables published by the Pró-Reitoria de Graduação.
I applied for the PAD and was accepted. What will my activities be like?
Talk to the lecturer responsible for the class. He or she will develop a plan that is in line with the program's philosophy of helping postgraduates in their training as university teachers.
I've finished my PAD internship. How do I get certificates and make it official with the program?
After the PAD internship, the lecturer responsible for the class must fill in a declaration of completion of the PAD internship for the student according to the model provided on the PAD institutional page. This document, with the signature of the lecturer responsible (digital signature only - scanned signatures will not be accepted) and the program coordinator, must not include a grade (indicate “not applicable” in the corresponding field). After this, the student must send the declaration to the PAD Commission, which will issue the certificate of completion.
The certificate of completion must then be sent to the CEPG (ppgee@unifesp.br).
